Just a little, every now & then about what I do and what I'm thinking about.
So the great pandemic of 2020....
It's affected everyone in one form or another.
From losing loved ones to losing out on finances - I'm unbelievably grateful to say I only suffered the latter. But I truly think we can take some positives from this time. Being more aware of what is important in our day to day life and not taking simple freedoms for granted. I will endeavour to appreciate my family and friends, make more free time away from working and to try and enjoy all the little things in life moving forward.
I have a six year old and 10 year old which has been joyous to have more quality time with them but also incredibly difficult at times. I can only imagine and sympathise with new parents, how arduous not being able to share your bundle of joy with family and friends and not being able to take advantage of well doers to help out. Not to mention not being able to get precious photographs in the first few weeks of life, as we all know they change daily and that reminder is such a special memory that really can't be replaced.
I did a few Virtual session photographs for clients during lockdown but nothing can really be as good as the real thing. I can't even tell you how much I missed the babies and working with different families - an element of my job that I hadn't even realised I adored so much. Easing back into photography with outdoor, socially distanced sessions has been great fun and a great learning curve! I can only thank the universe for all the good weather over the past couple of weeks.
Going forward, I will be wearing PPE for sessions to minimise risks as I will not be able to be 2 meters away at all times. Hygiene is always a top priority for any good Newborn Photographer, so many things such as hand washing, cleaning props and hand sanitiser will stay the same. I am also only taking one session a week to minimise my exposure, so be sure to get your booking in early to secure your spot!
I have to say - I am very much looking forward to getting back to the hustle and bustle of work and squishy babies! : )
