Just a little, every now & then about what I do and what I'm thinking about.
I think I've said it before but I love my job! I meet different people, it's creative and allows me to be flexible with my hours to care for my boys. As much as I love it, I'm always learning - new equipment, different software and changing trends mean there is always something I haven't fully mastered (if anything!) But I do also enjoy that expansion of my knowledge and being able to offer something better to my clients every time I'm booked.
I do suffer with pangs of self doubt, like anyone and especially doing something as subjective as photography means - I'm never going to be everyones cup of tea. And generally, I'm okay with this. You need to source the photographer that can execute what you want from your portrait session. I never send any images/prints out that I'm not happy with it's just part of my ethos as a service provider. But a tiny part of me always wonders if my clients are 100% happy with their images & service after the fact.
One way I feel I can be positive they are is when I get re-booked. My thinking is, if I didn't love what I received initially I certainly wouldn't go back again - so they must love me! (Apologies...I'll have a word with my inner child) Also, being recommended by clients to their loved ones gives me equal joy. So this year I've been beyond thrilled as 75% of my clients from May to July have been either recommendations or returning clients.
So I'd like to say a big thank you to all my clients, new, returning and otherwise! I strive to create the session that would definitely make you want to come back & tell a friend!
